A Milestone!
Friends, New Yorkers, Countrymen (and by that I mean anyone I know from the sticks...i.e. Wilkesboro/Greenville): Today is an historic day. On this, the fifteenth day of June in the year of our Lord two thousand four, I post my fiftieth blog! I celebrate by devouring some twice re-heated Sammy's Noodle Shop orange flavored chicken with hot dry peppers (twice because I re-heated it once, then forgot about it, left it in the microwave for an hour, and then had to do it again...it's a little chewy now...grody) and of course...blogging.
So what shall I say on this very special day?
1) I'm going to go see "Dodgeball" for free tonight if K-Lo ever calls me back. Ring, darnit! RING!!
2) I went to work 2 hours late today. You know how much they love me at AE when I show up 2 hours late and nobody cares.
3) And now, a sentimental look back at the previous 49 blogs...not all of them, just a few glimpses of my faves:
The glory is what we have seen of Jesus, but what is it? It is the manifestation (the outwardly visible) of grace and truth. Grace and truth make up the glory of Christ--what we have seen of Him. He is composed (full) of grace and truth. He is God's message to us in the flesh. God's message to us is full of grace and truth. When we pray for God to be glorified, we are saying that we want His grace and truth to be manifested, to be made more visible. When we say we want Him to be glorified in our lives, we are saying that we want His grace and truth to be made more evident in our lives. Friday, April 16, 2004
Oh y'all...tonight was the most apoplectic night of hockey EVER! I think I had about 9 heart attacks...The viking got angry, the cake man got to take a penalty shot, Wellington (Lee 3) had a nice carry up the rink, Sir Phatty popped in and out, but wasn't a dominating presence, Hyun took some shots...but all to no avail. At the end of the 3rd period, the score remained 0-0, and while by this point we had retrieved 3 pucks (which we smuggled out of the sky rink in my backpack), the night would still be unfulfilled for me until the Bulls came out victorious. Thirty-six seconds into overtime, my wish was granted...GO BULLS! Tuesday, April 20, 2004
Ode to a Weather Man (and an apology for breaking his heart)
Perfect suit, perfect hair,
You tell me of the weather
With such flair.
Cold fronts in, pressure high,
A storm system may be
Drawing nigh.
No matter what storms may come our way,
You're always on air
Day by day.
Oh Bobby, my love, forgive me for leaving
You weeping, sobbing, bereft,
Bereaving.
I promise one day to quench your heart's yearn.
I'll show up at your studio.

I hope y'all have enjoyed this look back as much as I have. I can't eat this chicken any more. Sammy's just doesn't stay for more than a few days. When did I go there? Crikey. Was it Saturday? What's today? Tuesday. Hmmm. Yeah, it's dead. Oh well. RING, dangit!! I need a Ben Stiller fix!!
