NAYASTY
My feet look ROUGH. I feel bad for whoever gives me my 1st pedicure upon returning to the U.S. I mean, I've never seen feet look so bad. Yikes. But I'm beginning to understand what a service pedicures are...and what a service it was for Jesus to wash his disciples' feet. Having walked all over the place in flip flops, my feet probably look like those of the disciples. Theirs were actually probably worse because their shoes weren't as cushy. Grody. Now I know why they protested and said, "Lord, surely you ain't gonna touch my nasty feet." wow.
Good day yesterday. I was in a studying mood the night before so I went ahead and did the next lesson in my course book. It was really easy. So it didn't make sense for me to go to class and just sit through the explanation and wait while everybody else did the exercises so I waited til 10:30 to go to class. Good decision. Good timing. Well rested. And I had read all of the short story that Eugenia (my conversation teacher) gave us so conversation class was good. And she encouraged me to get the whole book, so I went to el centro to look for it. It wasn't in the 1st store and I wasn't expecting to encounter another so I got "Under the Tuscan Sun" in spanish because I wanted to see the movie and never did. Then I found another book store that had the book I was originally looking for, but I decided not to get it for the sake of backpack space. I'll see if I can find it when I get home.
Ok back up time...I wanted to find this book, right? Hank told me about a book store nearby so I went to check it out. They had like 10 books...maybe, but anyway, while I was there, I met these girls:
-Becca and Anna from California
-Ellie from South Africa
-Katie from Australia
They had all met either on a train or in a hostel and they invited me to join them on their tapa tour and I accepted (tapas are kind of like appetizers. they're very big in Spain).
So when I was walking from the mall (where I bought the book) to Alcazaba (where I was to meet them), I found the 2nd bookstore and the book (which I'm waiting to purchase).
I ALSO found "La Puerta de Picasso," which is this giant arch thing painted like Picasso would have done it. It's kind of a funky shape too. And up near the top of it is painted what looks EXACTLY like the emblem of my favorite hockey team:
PICASSO'S MEN WITH HORNS!!!!!
I absolutely MUST go back for a picture. To not have documentation of this would almost be worse than missing out on the Sistine Chapel.
Whew. Ok real quick before I have to go back for my last hour of class...the day's top T's:
-"Steak Sandwich"
-"My boyfriend is out of the city this weekend"
-"Get your change on hurry up"
-"Gas"
-Ok this one was worn by a woman who had to have been in her late 30's/early 40's and it said, "Teenage Millionaire." Keep dreamin' honey...on both accounts.
