I'm so confused

I feel like singing patriotic songs right now, but I'm just too pooped to put any heart into it. I think the thing that compounds jet lag the most is getting off a normal eating schedule. I mean, I was on a flight just now on which they served essentially two meals, but they served "lunch" at what my body recognized as about 2:00, and then they served a very large "snack" at what my body recognized as about 9:00, but what the clock then said was closer to 4:00. So I kind of had dinner, but it's just getting to be dinner time now, and if I'm successful in staying up until an acceptable bed-time hour, I'm going to be hungry again before I go to sleep. Plus I'm disgusting, having not had a legitimate shower in a few days. Something happened to Ann's hot water the last couple of days we were there, so yesterday morning, I took a shower, but it pretty much just consisted of me bending my head over under the water to wash it while trying not to let the icy flow touch any other part of my body. Super clean. And when I woke up at 5:00 this morning following a 3-hour nap, there was NO WAY I was getting into a cold shower. That's just crazy. So here I am. Safe and sound. In my Raleigh apartment, which apparently flooded while I was gone, so we have these big, industrial fans blow-drying the joint and all the furniture shoved off to the side. Tired. Filthy. Wondering if I should be hungry. Terribly confused in general.

Sigh. It's good to be home.

On a bit more of an upside, though, Fundon TOTALLY lived up to its name! I had an absolute blast, and Ann was SO sweet to let us all stay with her. I'm so sorry I broke that glass this morning, by the way, Ann. I saw it all happening in slow motion, and there was just nothing that could be done about it. I'll send you some Reese's to make up for it.

And as for the rest of you, as soon as I charge the batteries for my camera and get the pictures onto the computer, they'll be coming directly to you, so keep your eyes peeled for my London Adventure 2005!! (You'll understand when you see the pics.)
