It's official!!
Kelly Clarkson is singing in my head right now something about "take a risk, make a change, and break away," probably because I've just signed up to do one of the hardest things I've ever done (and may ever do) in my life. That's right, I'm walkin' the walk.
October 20-21.
Charlotte, NC.
39.3 miles.
Avon Walk for Breast Cancer.
This might be one of the saddest statements ever made, but I can't think of too many things I've taken on in life that I didn't know ahead of time I could do. This, I think is possible, but I'm really not sure my knees are up to it. It's going to take a lot of hard work and determination on my part, and I'll need a lot of encouragement, accountability and support from everyone else.
To read more about it, to register to walk with me, or to make a donation, you can visit my personal page. To make me believe I can do this, you can email or call me. And to help me train, you can go for long walks with me around town. If you've ever done something like this, I'd also love your advice.
It's really happening, kids! Who am I?

You can sooo do this Beth. I would go on practice walks with you, but I feel a little far from you.
I did a long bike ride for charity and it hurt like hell, but it felt so good when it was over. It all pays off in the end, seriously.

This is so wonderful, I'm so excited for you! How about you come to Utah and walk the 5K or 1/2 Marathon (or full...) on May 19? It's a Saturday, and you'd be walking through Utahan mountain glory... our course has been renowned by experienced runners and walkers to be one of the best! Oh- and you'd have a place to stay! :)
love, ann:)
