Bibite e la Biblia

How came I to know, having ne'er but set mine eyes upon her streets, that Florence and I should get on so amiably is the greatest of mysteries; and yet after laundering, napping, dining, and traversing her ways yesterday, I can say with some confidence that I believe I could live here quite complaisantly for some time, wanting only in communication for the brief period of time I would require to acquire the tongue. Too much Jane Austen? Perhaps. I tried to figure out how I could use the word "vex" in there, but it just didn't fit. So I'm in Florence, and am overjoyed that I have finally discovered the apostrophe on the keyboard. '''' grand. I'm off to see David now. THE David, that is, and after that, I believe a pleasant afternoon in a coffee shop reading Exodus is in order. It is Wednesday after all, and although a coffee shop in Italy is nothing compared to "All About Food," I think it will suffice.
