Claymate Status Rocky

As you well know by now, I've been unpacking for the last several days, and as it always happens when I move, I'd forgotten how much stuff I had until I had to find a place to put it all again. I honestly don't know where it was all hiding in my NY apartment. Anywho, I was almost finished. Clothes were put away in color order, movies were alphabetized on the bookcase in the living room, food was in the pantry, pots and pans were in the cabinets, and I had one suitcase left. One enormous suitcase. Filled with books. Books. Books I'd forgotten I had. Books from school, fiction, non-fiction, books I got for free from the Journey. Tons of them. I didn't know where they would go. I finally got them situated, and in the process, I got really excited about them because I really wanted to read through a lot of them again. I read one Monday afternoon on Linguistics (it's really short and thoroughly illustrated, so don't be impressed), and in doing so, I've become increasingly irritated by Clay Aiken's contribution to the extinction of the subjunctive in the English language. I realize we're in a "transition" period and that it's not entirely his fault that it's happening, but come on! "If I was invisible..."!! You have a college education, for crying out loud. And besides, learning the subjunctive in Spanish would be a lot easier if we could compare it to something in our native language. Think about the future, Clay! Consider the children!

Needless to say, when he moves back to Raleigh and I find out where his house is, I'll be tossing significantly fewer undergarments at his front door.
