well well well

It certainly has been a productive week. I don't know why I always feel more validated as a useful human being when I get even the simplest things done in bulk, but it really does boost my self-confidence just a tad. If I accomplish as much in the way of lesson planning this weekend as I'm hoping to do, my head won't fit in my apartment any more...especially with all the extra love seats lying around.

Anywho, I DON'T LIVE IN A SHED ANY MORE!! That's the biggest news of all. My parents, Brooke's parents and several of Brooke's friends from her church (who are apparenly more dedicated than most of my friends from my church with but one notable exception) came to help us out. Mom, Dad and I swung by Chic-Fil-A first thing for breakfast, then went by the shed to get my bed--the last remaining piece of furniture. By 9:45 a.m., I was cruising around Cary in a U-Haul on my way to the ginormous warehouse where the rest of my possessions were in storage. Brooke and two of her man friends met us there. We hoisted all the crap in place and shimmied over to Brooke's old place where, to my great shock and amazement, at least 20 people were there waiting to help us. Ok, so maybe that's an exaggeration, but that's what it looked like when I saw them all. There were maybe eight, though, for real. In no time at all, we had the U-Haul as well as a couple of pick-up trucks loaded up, and we headed over to our new digs. By 12:45, we had everything inside and were eating pizza for lunch.

Then began the long and painful process of trying to find places for all of the furniture. We have coffee tables and sofas coming out of our ears. If only this were NY, where we could just put them out on the street corner for some lucky lucky person in need of a coffee table or sofa to find and tote home.

I think that I've now changed my address for every subscription, bill, bank, etc. that would require it as well as having all other mail forwarded by the post office. I signed up for health insurance (I've been without it since my NYU insurance ran out in January). Both of my job sites have started back, so I'm working 9-12 and 6:30-9:30 Mon.-Thurs. I've picked up some private tutoring gigs that'll add on a few more hours/dollars each week. I just watched "Space Camp." And I'm going for a pedicure in an hour.

Hear me roar.
