More Fun ESL Moments
In the middle of every semester, all the students do evaluations of the classes/teachers. It's a fairly simple form. There are several questions that require a bubble-in response of always, usually, sometimes, never or no opinion. And there are a few open-ended questions to ellicit more specific information. My favorite response from yesterday's evaluations came from an advanced student who was asked to complete the sentence that began, "Class would be better if..."
He or she (we can't be sure as they are anonymous) said, "Class would be better if provide to draw on each other." Yes. I'd like that class too.

Not trying to underestimate anyone, but "provide" is a pretty fancy word for a beginning ESL student, isn't it? Are you SURE you didn't anonymously write that one in yourself, Miss Parent?
ha ha ha!
Heh, nice! And yeah... I do wonder about the provide business. How ARE you dahhling?
