Uhhh...

I don't know what to do with myself. Don't know just what to do with myself...

I don't know any more of that song, either, but today is the first day of my month of unemployment, and as you might have guessed, I don't know what to do with myself. I suppose the first thing I should do is get dressed and go buy some food. All I've got is a zested orange, some triscuits and some kettle corn. Not exactly the healthiest (or tastiest) way to start the day. So after I tell you about my weekend, shower, clothes and food are on the agenda.

So for the last week and a half or so, I've been sewing like a mad woman in preparation for my friend Paige's "Ware, Wear and Walls" holiday craft event. Along with about six other people, I went over to Paige's to peddle my wares, both wearable and un-wearable. See the post below and its link for more info on what those wares were exactly. So in addition to working for Wake Tech and tutoring, I would come home every day/night and sew until I went to bed. Meanwhile, my roommate, who is working on her national board teaching certification, would come home from work and start immediately typing or researching for that.

Needless to say, the hygiene of our apartment suffered.

Well, Saturday was the big shindig, and it was a lot of fun. I made a little money, and a lot of people saw my stuff for the first time, so that was scary/exciting. I also got to have lunch with my mom and my aunt on Saturday, which was SO fun. I just love them both. But the poor apartment was still a wreck.

So yesterday afternoon, I removed all the shirt scraps that were residing in the living room, we gave the place a good straightening (sanitization to follow), and we put up the Christmas tree, which I must say, despite the ornery lights, looks fabulous. I just might make a t-shirt tree skirt for it.

Now the only thing left is to find a place to put it. Right now, it's just in the middle of the room, which doesn't make for a whole lot of walking space.

But first, shower, clothes and food. Happy Monday to you all!
