Last days in Málaga

Howdy doody all. Here's how the last couple of days went down in Málaga. Friday was my last day of class. It was business as usual, except we played Scrabble in Spanish. We worked in pairs. Stefan and I kept getting the most horrible letters. We'd either have all vowels or all consonants, but never anything to make a good word with. Anywho, then I slept all after noon. 1st siesta this week. Then I had dinner with Sofie and Sara. We must have walked a mile or more before finally just deciding on this random restaurant. We hadn't looked at the menu or anything. I ate swordfish for the first time in my life. It was good. Not too fishy. I need to start eating more non-fishy fish. Apparently it's good for you.

With the JanSport packed, I was ready to head out this afternoon. Having made reservations for trains to both Madrid AND Paris, I was feeling really intelligent. And I felt really on top of things when I went ahead and packed the clothes I'd been wearing. Catch that? Packing in my knickers. Then my German roommate (whose name I finally found is Lars) came home. I don't know if he was drunk or what, but he kept talking to me from the bottom of the stairs and I was just praying that he didn't decide to come on up. He didn't. But we had a really confusing conversation that went something like this:

LARS: So what do you think of James Bush?
ME: (confused) George Bush?
LARS: Yes. George Bush.
ME: (increasingly confused and not wishing to continue this conversation) Well, he may not be the best public speaker, which makes him come off as not-so-bright, but I think he's a pretty decent guy.
LARS: (incoherent mumbling in German)
ME: (wondering if he's drunk)
LARS: I think it's the time for new....

He didn't finish that last sentence, but I get what he meant. I just didn't respond. He stopped talking. Ok so imagine all of that in a REALLY strong, nearly unintelligible German accent. Wow. Laborious...for both of us. He fell asleep within the next few minutes and was sawing some serious logs in the living room. Hank and I agreed this morning that he's a little stranger than strange. Sofie and I have agreed on this for a while.

That was the end of Friday.

Today, I got up, took a shower, lounged around the apartment all day waiting for my towel to dry so I could pack it up, and then I left for the train station. But that's a whole other blog.
