a response to one Mr. Bryan Bailey

"to be in the center of God's will for our lives is the best and safest place on earth"

Yeah, thanks Bryan. I guess I didn't tie that last one up too neatly. It's just that the center of God's will is such a nebulous thing isn't it? I mean, it would be so much easier if it were laid out for each of us just as clearly as God's stance on, say, murder. I do think that in determining God's will for our lives, we should check out the desires that we have. They may be from us, they may be from Him...that's what we have to figure out. So the first place we should go is the Bible. And if, having read and sought, we can't find anything in there that goes against our desire (like what if I really really really wanted to be a professional hit (wo)man?), then we need to pray, use the brains God gave us to think logically, and get other people's thoughts (God gave them brains too).

I think that if we are regularly seeking God, Himself (not for our own purposes, but just to know Him better), He will direct us. We'll have to make decisions along the way (darn that free will), but by getting to know His nature, trusting that He is in control and following our hearts' desires while using the brains He gave us, He will keep us in the center of His will no matter where we go geographically.

Though I suppose you think I should go to Texas. You wouldn't be the only one.
