Merry New Saint Thanks-Christmahannukwanzakatrick's Day
My sister and I drove down to my parents' house in Charleston today to celebrate all the holidays that she missed while she was in Kuwait, so although it's technically St. Patrick's Day, we're celebrating Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's AND St. Patty's all at once. That means we're all wearing green, cooking Thanksgiving dinner, getting ready to open Christmas presents, and I took a nap earlier so I could stay up until midnight wearing a funny hat, waiting for the moment when we all yell at each other and rattle noise-makers. My mom even hung the stockings by the chimney with care and put the nativity scene back out so we could play our traditional Christmas game of "Where's Jesus?" He's already been on the roof and the mantel. Don't you wish you were a member of my family?
